Holiday Newsletter; Embracing the Light Within

Dear Friends,

As we approach the holiday season, I hope this newsletter finds you filled with peace and joy. The spirit of the holidays brings us all together, and is a reminder of the importance of community, connection, and self-care, especially during this time of reflection and gratitude.

This past year has been a whirlwind for me, filled with many challenges, growth and new beginnings. I’ve been so busy wrapping up my classes for my social work degree, and I’m thrilled to share that I will be stepping into a new role as a research assistant in the new year. I’ll be working on a significant research project which focuses on the moral injury experienced by frontline workers, an important topic that resonates deeply within our community, as many of us seek to support those who give so much of themselves.

I must extend a heartfelt thank you to all those who have sent my husband Kim, distance reiki and prayers, as his health issues are ongoing and we’re trying to navigate this “new normal”. We both appreciate the love and kindness that has been sent our way during this trying time.

Additionally, I want to take a moment to acknowledge the profound grief parents who have experienced child loss are facing during the holidays (and every day). For those who are new to this community, I have written a book titled A New Normal-A Grieving Mother’s Journey from Loss to Healing, which aims to provide guidance for those navigating this painful journey. With shared stories and heartfelt insights, my goal is to create a space where grieving parents can find solace, connection, and tools to help them move forward while honoring their child’s memory. If you are not a bereaved parent but know someone who is, this book makes a heartfelt gift and offers support to those who need it most. My book is available on amazon, as well as various shops throughout Alberta and Saskatchewan.

As we gather and celebrate with our friends and family, let’s all take a moment to reflect on the importance of kindness and compassion, both towards ourselves and others. This holiday season, I encourage you to carve out time for meditation and reiki practice, allowing yourself to connect with the inner light that guides us all. Whether it’s through a quiet moment of reflection or a shared meditation with loved ones, let’s embrace the healing energy this season brings.

I’ve included for you all a complimentary guided meditation titled “Coming Home”, please let me know if you’ve enjoyed my complimentary meditations and if there’s any other general topic guided meditation you’d like to see on my website. I can also be contracted to write and record for you a custom guided meditation that’s specific to your individual needs. Details can be found on my website, under the “work with Loralee” tab. If you’re hoping to book a reiki session either in person or distance before the new year please check my Facebook page for availability, or contact me via my email kl_scobie@yahoo.ca.

In the coming months, I look forward to sharing more opportunities for connection and healing within our community. I’ll be adding more therapeutic services, which I’m so excited to share with you in the new year. Together, we will continue to cultivate a space of support, understanding and love for one another.

Wishing you all a joyful holiday season filled with peace, love and light. May the new year bring us all opportunities for growth, healing and connection.

Warmly,

Loralee Reiki Master/teacher

Loralee J Scobie

Author of A New Normal - A Grieving Mother’s Journey from Loss to Healing.

For over 2 decades, Loralee Scobie has been professionally working with energy and helping women (and men) embrace the power of their own being.  Loralee started her career as a registered social worker but always knew through her own childhood experiences with spirit that we are all more powerful than we know.

As a Reiki Master/teacher Loralee offers training in Reiki (Japanese healing art) and in meditation.  Loralee is a firm believer to be an authentic teacher of Reiki one must work with Reiki daily (either on self or others), for the Reiki energy is the true teacher.  In her full-time practice Scobie offers in person and distance (via facetime or zoom) treatments on demand.

Loralee believes that meditation is the foundation to all spiritual practices and should be incorporated into ones’ daily routine.  She offers group training online and in person, where she teaches not only how to meditate, but how to create your own meditation practice.  Loralee also provides a unique service where she will compose/record a personal meditation just for you, relevant to what you are working on healing in your life.

As a certified hypnotherapist Loralee has helped many clients young and older on how to use hypnotherapy to overcome obstacles in this lifetime.  These sessions can be shared either in person or on zoom/facetime.

Loralee is the published author of her first book titled A New Normal-A Grieving Mother’s Journey from Loss to Healing. In this narrative Scobie shares what it took to move her through her grief and to go on to live a life of purpose, following the death of her daughter.  She also shares what is and isn’t helpful for grieving parents and how others can best support the bereaved.  Loralee can be booked as a guest speaker and welcomes the opportunity to read from her book and sign copies.
